Pearls of the crown
the Pearls of the Crown is a French film Co-carried out in 1937 by Sacha Guitry (on an original screenplay of this last) and Christian-Jaque.
Synopsis
The historian Jean Martin (Sacha Guitry) tells with his young wife Francoise (Jacqueline Delubac) the fabulous history of a collar made up of seven fine pearls, formerly offered by the pope Clément VII (Ermete Zacconi) to his niece Catherine de Médicis (Paulette Elambert), a few months before the marriage of the latter with the future Henri II… Four of the pearls, handing-over with Elizabeth the 1st (Yvette Pienne) shortly after execution of Marie Stuart (Jacqueline Delubac) decorate from now on the arches of the British royal crown, but the three last mysteriously disappeared. Jean Martin then decides to leave in search missing jewels, imitated in that by an officer of the English Royal House (Lyn Harding) and a chamberlain of the pope (Enrico Glori)…
