The peaceful plate is a Tectonic plate of the Lithosphère of the Planet Ground. Its surface is of 2,576 85 Stéradian S. It is about the largest terrestrial tectonic plate. One generally associates with it the plates of Futuna, of the reef Balmoral, the reef Conway, the New Hebrides, Southern Bismarck, Northern Bismarck, Manus and the Carolines.
It covers to it quasi totality of the Pacific Ocean except the seas of Bering, of Okhotsk, the Japan, Jaune, of Eastern China, southernmost China of the Filipino , of Java, the Célèbes, Banda, Bismarck, the Solomon, Corail and of Tasman, the Eastern Pacific and is Golfe of California. Its borders with the other plates are in particular formed of the dorsal of the Pacifique West, the Pacific-Antarctic and of Juan de Fuca in the Pacific Ocean, of the pits of subduction of the Aleutian Islands on the southern part of Aleutian Islands, of Kamtchatka on the east coast of the peninsula of Kamtchatka, of the Kouriles on the east coast of Kouriles, of the Japan on the east coast of Japan, of Izu-Bonin on the east coast of the islands Bonin, of the Mariannes on the east coast of Mariannes, of Bougainville on the southern part of the Solomon Islands, of the Tonga on the east coast of the Tonga islands, the Kermadec on the east coast of the Kermadec islands and Hikurangi on the North-eastern coast of New Zealand and the Alpine Fault in the island of the South of New Zealand.
The displacement of the peaceful plate is done towards the North-West at a speed of 8,10 centimetres per annum.
