Peace of the Ladies

The Peace of the Ladies , or Cambric Peace, puts an end to the second Guerre between the two sovereigns François I {{er}} and Charles Quint. It is signed with Cambrai the August 5th 1529 in the Hotel Saint-pol. François I {{er}} gives up its Italian claims and recovers the Burgundy, but it yields the Artois and the Flanders S. the Peace of the Ladies is signed by Louise of Savoy (mother of king François Ier) and Marguerite of Austria (aunt of the emperor Charles Quint). This treaty also negotiates the release of the royal children, François and Henri (future Henri II), which were imprisoned in Madrid.
