Peace Pilgrim

Peace Pilgrim (July 18th 1908 - July 7th 1981) of its true name Mildred Lisette Norman was militant a pacifist and Végétarienne. She is the author of Étapes towards interior peace .

She started in 1953, while going in all the the United States expressing her ideas in connection with peace and of the end of the war, being made call Peace Pilgrim .

1953 in Pasadena, California, Norman walked across the United States for 28 years.

The negro spiritual classic " Steps Toward Inner Peace " has transcript off has 1964 talk given by her one KPFK radio in Los Angeles, California. In that year she completed 25,000 miles one foot for peace, after which she stopped counting miles. --> Peace Pilgrim had for only goods, clothing which it wore on it and the things which it had in the pockets of its blue tunic on the front of which was written " PEACE PILGRIM" ( Pilgrim of peace ) and in its back " 25,000 MILES ONE FOOT FOR PEACE" ( 25000 miles with foot for peace ). Without any organization to support it, without money in the pockets, and asking for food or a roof, it forever missed anything in 28 years walk. She often said: " Aren' T people good, " (" people are bons" ). She spoke with all those which listened to it of all that had a relationship with peace: peace between the nations, peace between people and the very important interior Peace, which was, according to it, the source of peace. " Aren' T people good, " she would often say. She spoke to all who would listen butt the entire peace picture; peace among nations, peace among groups, and the very important " Inner peace " because she believed that was where peace began. -->

When she spoke about her ideas of peace, she was presented simply in the form of a " Peace Pilgrim". Its pilgrimage with cover almost three decades, while starting during the War of Korea, then during the War of Vietnam, and even afterwards. She died in an car accident in 1981 whereas she was led for a speech on the side of Knox (Indiana). She was crossing the the United States for the seventh time. Peace and ending war, she referred to herself only ace " Peace Pilgrim." Her pilgrimage spanned almost three decades beginning during the Korean War and continuing during the American involvement in the Vietnam War and beyond. She died in automobile year accident in 1981 while being driven to has speaking engagement near Knox, Indiana. At the time off her death she was crossing the United States for the seventh time. -->
