Pavlovsk
Pavlovsk is a palate in arc of a circle to 26 km in the south of Saint-Pétersbourg in the middle of 600 hectares of wood and lakes.
History
He was built between 1782 and 1786 for Catherine II which made of it gift with his/her only child Paul Ier by the architect Charles Cameron. Interior decoration was conceived by Maria de Wurttenberg, marries of Paul, woman to the temperament artist which lived there since the assassination of Paul in 1801 until his death in 1828.

Out of cast iron these doric columns resemble those of Berlin.

It was used for Paul Ier to accommodate the knights of Malta which he had taken under his protection after Napoleon conquered the island.

The town of Pavlovsk is one of the places in the novel the idiot of Fedor Dostoïevski.
