Pavel Pavlovitch Kalyouzhnyi

Pavel Pavlovitch Kalyouzhnyi was a fighter pilot and Soviet As of the Second world war, holder of the title of Héros of the Soviet Union.

Career

Born the March 6th 1916 with Vasilkovskoye , meadows of Zaporodjié , it spirit initially with the Aero club of Zaporodjié , before engaging in the Red Army in 1937. Graduate of the college military of the Air of Kacha in 1938, and named starshii leitenant (= lieutenant), it was committed dice the first combat which followed the invasion of the the USSR by the Wehrmacht, the June 22nd 1941. In June 1943, after the 3 of the same month it had obtained 3 victories approved in a combat, it was promoted with the rank of Kapitan (= Capitaine) and in November of the same year, 1943, it achieves its 200° mission of combat in the rows of the 487.IAP of IAP-PVO , regiment of hunting which was to become the 146.GuIAP , Régiment of the Garde. It finished the war like Major (= Commander).

At the conclusion of this one, it continued a military career, graduate successively of the Académie of the Air , in 1952, and of the Academy of general staff , in 1957. It took its retirement as general-major (= Brigadier general) in 1971.
