Paulus Potter is a animalist painter Dutch, born with Enkhuizen the November 20th 1625 and died with Amsterdam the January 17th 1654.

Potter, which will die at 29 years, will have a great influence on the Artiste S which will paint very Paysage S beyond the beginning of the 19th century.

Animalist painter, it concentrated quasi exclusively on the subjects Bovin S and reached a perfection in their representation.

Its philosopher's stones are visible with the Rijksmuseum of Amsterdam. One also finds some with Paris (Musée of Louvre), with London (Wallace collection), etc

One can estimate that this concentration on a single subject, in spite of some variations towards the horses or the Chien S, constituted a step which constitutes a prelude to the abstraction. From this point of view, Paulus Potter is a Master whose repercussions still resound in the contemporary art.
