Paulo Mendes da Rocha , born in 1928, is an architect Brésil IEN. He works especially in Brazil.
Biography
He was born the October 25th 1928 with Vitoria in the State d' Espirito Santo.
Its work
He belongs to the group of modernistic Brazilian which created a style particular, at the same time international but anchored in the Brazilian spirit. Its purified lines reflect the spirit of Sao Paulo, the economic capital of the country, and its style is compared to “architecture brutalist paulist”, a movement of creators attached to the forms and simple materials and a certain ethics.

Honors
He is member elect, in 2006, of the prestigious Prix Pritzker in Architecture. He is the second Brazilian one after Oscar Niemeyer to receive this supreme reward in Architecture, often called the “Nobel of architecture”.
