Paul Vulliaud

Paul Vulliaud (Lyon, 1875 - 1950) was a writer, translator and painter French.

Catholic, hellenistic very as much as hébraïsant, he is the author of translations and comments of the Hebraic Bible, of the Zohar, as well as works of Dante, Shakespeare and Solomon ibn Gabirol.

In 1923, Paul Vulliaud publishes the Jewish Cabal , where he argues in favor of the antiquity of Zohar and the Kabbale, and differentiates the Jewish cabal from the Christian cabal. According to him, “ the causes of examination relating to the Jewish esotericism are thus numerous. The science of the religions, archeology Jew, the history of philosophy, the origin of Christianity, the study of the sects contemporary nuns are there interested ”.

He affirms that

the examination of the processes esoteric of interpretation shows the originality of the Cabal. In which other tradition one finds the similar ones. The analogies of numeral and literal Cabal, noticed among Greeks, Latin or the Arabs, for example, well rather show the incapacity of these people to subject their idiom to handling which is, so to speak, the privilege of the tradition and the language Jew.

In 1936, it publishes the Traditional Key of the Gospels , recalling there the secular polemic between hellenistic, hébraïsants and aramaïsants as for the language of the New Testament. He pleads in favor of the Semitic drafting, without slicing but not between Hebrew and araméen. It is only in 1952, in the End of the world , after the discoveries of the Manuscrits of Qumrân, proof alive and indubitable of the life of Hebrew around the first century of the Christian era, which it indicates the Hebraic language like original language of New Testament:

At first sight, it is allowed to be astonished that Bossuet and Henry More spoke about the Apocalypse in terms of an eloquence so laudatory that it would be qualified the hyperbolic one. And, however, they admired it without to have covered it its genuine envelope I want to say, without him to have restored its Semitic language, in which it was mentally conceived. By it not making, which richnesses whose this book abounds that one hardly suspects. Already, with the frontispiece of this writing, the Semitic expression appears, if one translates accurately by " That which is, which was and which viendra" , the greeting which the author addresses to the seven churches in the name of That which is the Eternal Present. Its work was regarded as esoteric or marginal, hardly quoted by Gershom Scholem or Charles Mopsik, before being given to the honor by Bernard Dubourg. This one was based on Paul Vulliaud to establish that Hebrew was the original language of New Testament, while being based on this specificity of Hebrew, who does not function in araméen, namely the Jewish cabal.
