Paul Volcker
Paul Adolph Volcker (born on September 5th, 1927) is a former director of the Federal fund of the United States ( Federal Reserve Board ) of 1979 to 1987.
It is recognized to have put an end to the period of strong inflation of the Années 1970 in the United States. The Inflation, which reached a high point with 13.5% in 1981, was brought back to 3.2% in 1983 and remained on a bottom grade until now.
It was charged by UNO with inquiring into handling of the program “Pétrole against food” of UNO (Affaire Oil against food). At the conclusion of its work, the board of inquiry which it chaired wrote a ratio of 623 pages called “Rapport Volcker”.
