Paul Verneyras

Paul Verneyras is a politician French born the May 19th 1898 with Troyes (Aube), died at 98 years the May 19th 1996 with Mathaux (Paddle). Of very modest origin, it began as textile workman then commercial from wood. Military Cross during war 14-18, it is one of the founding members of the CFTC in 1920, near to the Christian social movement of the Sillon, it entered the Résistance as of 1940 by taking part in the development of the Northern movement Libération. Deputy MRP of Paris of 1945 to 1951, adviser then vice-president of the the Council of Paris of 1946 to 1947, he becomes man of press. He was director of NMPP, France Soir and Paris-Normandy.

He was also member of the jury of the Cannes festival in 1949 and 1951.
