Paul Van Rams

Paul Van Rams , born with Mouscron on December 7th, 1929 and deceased with Mouscron on March 3rd, 1995, is a Belgian Politician and a Walloon militant.
It makes its humanities with Tournai, then its studies of civil engineer with Lille. He is mathematics professor in free teaching (1953-1964). He is member of Walloon Rénovation of Mouscron and represents this regional with the Managerial college of Wallonia. He is member also of regional Central committee of Walloon action of this city. He militates for the meeting with the Province of Hainaut of Mouscron which, at the time, always formed part of the Province of Western Flanders. These are the standpoint which makes him lose its place in teaching.
It is one of the very first members of the Walloon Rassemblement in the area of Turned-Mouscron Comines. It is presented in second place on the list of the RW, is not elected but, appointed temporary will succeed Jean Leclercq deceased in 1970. He is elected appointed in 1971 and remains it until 1974. It will intervene at the Belgian Parliament in particular to protest against the linguistic statute of Flobecq. It deposits a private bill besides removing the linguistic facilities when, in a Walloon or Flemish commune, the number of those which are supposed to have there to make call does not exceed 7% of the population. It will be also presented to the European elections of 1984 on a list FDF in order to ensure a presence of Walloons in this electoral roll.
