Paul To raise

Paul " Papa" To raise (October 7th 1880 - December 21st 1972) was a German officer, having reached the row of of Generalleutnant (brigadier general) in the Reichswehr. After putbeing put in retirement in the regular army, it joined the Waffen-SS and became one of the most eminent chiefs about it, fighting on all the battle fields of the west as of the east during the Second world war. It was seriously wounded twice, losing a eye.

Beginnings of its military career

To raise was born in the Brandebourg, in a family of Prussian soldiers ; his/her father, Kurt To raise, were a commander in the imperial German army. He enters the army in 1892 and remains until in 1896 at the school of juniors by Köslin, then is used with the Academy as juniors by Berlin-Lichterfelde where he obtains his diploma in successfully 1899. The March 20th 1899, it is named lieutenant and affected with posted Infantry-Regiment 155 with Ostrowo close to Posen. Reprocessed, Hausser adheres to the organization Stahlhelm (steel helmet), an association of veterans of the First World War and becomes the local leader in 1933 about it. In November 1934, it is transferred to SS-Verfügungstruppe (armed S) and affected in SS-Führerschule Brunswick. In 1935, he becomes inspector of SS-Junkerschule and is named with the rank of Brigadeführer (brigadier general in the S) in 1936. Military career at the time of the Second world war
