Paul Tillich
Paul Johannes Tillich (August 20th 1886 Starzeddel, Germany - October 22nd 1965 Chicago) is a writer and theologist Protesting.
Of German origin, it was driven out University because it had taken the defense of Jewish students molestés by the Nazis, and was exiled then in the United States. Paul Tillich is one of the largest theologists of our century. Its systematic Théologie is its main work. It comprises important a " Introduction" methodological and five parts entitled " Reason and révélation" , " The being and Dieu" , " The existence and Christ" , " Life and Esprit" , " History and Royaume" (three volumes in the American edition, five, one by part, envisaged in the French translation).
Tillich will exert a strong influence on many thinkers of second half of the XXe century, among which Paul Ricoeur and Rene Girard.
