Paul Religious bigot , born with Orbec the October 20th 1870 and died in Paris the June 8th 1942, is a Architecte French.

Biography

Paul-Marie-Arsene Bigot studies architecture with the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the Art schools of Paris in the workshops of Andre and Victor Laloux. He obtains the first large Prix of Rome in 1900 for a project of thermal baths and casino. He is elected member of the Académie of the Art schools in 1931.

Following a study carried out at the time of its stay to the Villa Médicis, it realizes between 1908 and 1942 several specimens of a plaster model of the plan of Rome at the 4th century whose specimen was deposited with the Université of Caen during the rebuilding of this one. Paul Bigot indeed was the Master of the architect of the new university, Henry Bernard.

He is in charge starting from 1919 of the rebuilding then plan of extension and embellishment of Fargniers close to Tergniers and Saint-Quentin where he rebuilds the district of the station. He specializes in addition in the realization of memorials in particular related to the Great War. It remains permanently in rupture with the modern Mouvement. He teaches with the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the Art schools starting from 1923, where he is named foreman in 1925 and this until 1940. He is in addition elected with the Académie of the fine arts in 1931.

  • 1922-1928 : Place Carnegie of Fargniers, current commune of Tergnier (Aisne) in collaboration with Henri-Paul Nénot (together including/understanding the town hall, a post office, a police station, a pump, a market, a room of assembly, the hearth Carnegie, an establishment of baths, schools, green areas and plays) (registered MH)
  • 1925-1928: Institute of art and archeology (old Library Jacques Doucet) 6 avenue de l'Observatoire, in the 6th district of Paris (classified MH)
  • 1927: war memorial, places Foch, with Caen
  • 1927: museum Antoine Lécuyer with Saint-Quentin (Aisne)
  • 1927: monument with the children of Saint-Quentin (Aisne) in collaboration with the sculptors Paul Landowski and Henri Bouchard
  • 1930-1938: memorial of the first victory of the Marne, Mondement-Montgivroux (the Marne) in collaboration with the sculptor Henri Bouchard (registered MH)
