Paul Poiret

Paul Poiret , born with Paris the April 20th 1879 and died in Paris the April 28th 1944, is a Couturier French, known for its audacities. He is regarded as a precursor of the style Art déco. Its trade mark is a Turban very wrapping decorated of a brush which his wife, Denise, make famous.

Biography

He is engaged as draftsman of mode at Doucet in 1898, then works at Worth of 1901 with 1903. He opens his designers house in September 1903 and equips Réjane, which launches it. He removes the Corset in 1906, by creating dresses high size. He becomes thus a pioneer of the female emancipation.
