Paul McCreesh

Paul McCreech is a Leader English born the May 24th 1960 with London.

Biography

Violoncellist of formation, it carried out studies of Musicologie to the Université of Manchester. In 1982, it creates its unit, the Gabrieli Consort and Players with the armorial bearings of Marc Saint. Gabrieli is composed of young and talented elements, framed by musicians experienced like T. Roberts (Claveciniste).

Repertory

With the head of this unit, Paul McCreesh quickly pointed out himself for the reconstitutions of musical events of the period of the Renaissance and the time baroque. In this repertory, its daring and dynamic readings brought much to the music, with the music lovers, and allowed him to direct Gabrieli in more the big rooms of concerts and the great festivals. The specialization choral society which it gave to Gabrieli makes it possible him to introduce exceptional singers, and to produce recordings which refer ( Requiem for Philippe II of Moralès, in particular).
