Paul Maurice

Paul Maurice (born the January 30th 1967 with Sault co. Marie in the Ontario with the Canada) is a professional trainer of Hockey in North America. It currently involves the Maple Leafs of Toronto in the National league of hockey.

Career

In 1985 - 1984, it plays hockey as a defender in the Ontario Hockey League , for the Spitfires de Windsor. During a match, it receives a metal disc in the right eye, metal disc which has just rebounded on its stick. He suffers since from eye troubles and does not see this eye well.

In 1985, during the fishing out of entry in the LNH, the Flyers of Philadelphia choose it as 252e and a last choice of the draft. He will never play in the LNH and when in 1987, the guard of the Blues of Saint-Louis joined the frankness, the owner of the team, Peter Karmanos, leaves him the possibility either of being exchanged or to pass behind the bench as an assistant trainer.

He then decides to join the Red Wings Junior of Strait (another team held by Karmanos) and becomes their trainer about it during two seasons. They gain together the Coupe J. Ross Robertson in 1994 - 95.

He then becomes the trainer of the frankness from the Whalers de Hartford in 1996-97 at the 28 years age. During the transfer of the team in North Carolina, it follows the team and reaches in 2002, the final of the Coupe Stanley (demolished against the Red Wings de Détroit). After 604 matches behind the bench of the Hurricanes it is replaced by Peter Laviolette.

The June 24th 2005, it is engaged by the Marlies of Toronto then it joined the Maple Leafs of Toronto the May 12th 2006 to replace Pat Quinn.
