Paul Hunter

Paul Alan Hunter (October 14th 1978 - October 9th 2006), was a professional player English of Snooker.

Beginnings

Paul Hunter passed his childhood to Leeds (England) where it was involved with billiards of many hours. He entered the professional circuit as of July 1995. Four months later, Hunter created sensation in the U.K. Championship by beating the 6th world player, Alan McManus. He became the youngest player to reach the semi-finals of the Treat Welsh Open of 1996, at the 17 years and 3 months age. The same year, it reached the quarterfinals of the U.K. Championship by beating Willie Thorne 9-0, James Wattana 9-5 and Terry Murphy 9-7 before failing vis-a-vis Stephen Hendry 9-5.

Death

Paul Hunter is deceased following a cancer on October 9th, 2006, 5 days before his 28e birthday, at the hospital of Huddersfield in England.
