Paul Hudson
Paul Hudson alias H.R. for Human Rights or Ras Hailu Gabriel Joseph I (born on February 11th, 1956 with London) is a singer Afro-Américain rastafarien who will parallel to amalgamate his career within the group Bad Brains various styles of negro musics in an approach which proves to be singular, eclectic and artisanal. Its compositions in solo will overall less emphasize the extraordinary range of these vocal possibilities that the songs of Bad Brains. Its discography at least as important as that of its group of origin will be the means of expression of once mystical. His/her Earl brother, also beater of Bad Brains will be present on all his recordings. H.R. will join by three times Ras Michael, the leader of the Sons off Negus a musician of great prestige in Jamaica. While producing on the one hand, an album entitled Zion Train and on the other hand, by recruiting it as percussionnist for the recording of two of its own albums: Singin' In Your Heart and Our Faith . The career solo of H.R. will mark a crushing argument in the middle of the Nineties. In 2005 H.R. will occur in company of a group of accompaniment called Dubb Agents, this time without his/her brother, into growing old, his physical aspect and its unforeseeable behavior (he will play with a helmet of motorcylcist on the head at the time of the first of the three concerts of Bad Brains in 2006 with CBGB' S) will make it more and more resemble a Lee Scratch Perry. The album dub entitled Out off Bounds published by DIA records seems to be its last recording in date. In 2007, H.R. announced the exit of a new album entitled Hey Wella (DCHC Records) on its site Myspace.
Retrospectively the album It' S About Luv seems a perfect complement with the Roir Sessions of Bad Brains.
