Paul Gachet

The doctor Paul Gachet (1828 - 1905) is a doctor, artist and collector of works of Article It is especially known as being the friend of Vincent van Gogh which it lodged in his house of Auvers-sur-Oise.

Born with Lille in 1828, Paul-Ferdinand Gachet makes his studies of medicine to Paris and Montpellier. He is established in Paris with 9, rue Montholon. He makes general medicine but starts to specialize in the nervous diseases. He buys the house of Auvers-sur-Oise in 1872, attended then by a great number of artists, especially impressionist. Doctor Gachet dies in his house of Auvers-sur-Oise, surrounded by his collection of tables, with nearly 80 years.
