Paul Emile Debraux

Paul Emile Debraux , French chansonnier, born in 1796 with Ancerville (Meuse), died in 1831.

It was some time librarian with the Medical school.

One owes him many popular songs and national, which had a great vogue and which was joined together by Pierre-Jean de Béranger (1835, 3 volumes in-32).

One knows especially:

  • Fanfan the Tulip (1819)
  • Marengo
  • the Column
  • the Prince Eugene
  • the Mount St-Jean
  • Soldier, do you remember you? .
