Paul Daimler

Paul Daimler (September 13rd, 1869 with Karlsruhe - December 15th, 1945 with Berlin) is a Engineer in German Mécanique of géni, pioneer of the car, owner heir to Daimler, pioneer of Mercedes-Benz… Fils of Gottlieb Daimler (Engine Co-inventor of the spark-ignition in 1883).

Biography

Paul is born on September 13rd, 1869 with Karlsruhe. Wire of Gottlieb Daimler and Emma Kunz which have five children. He inherits the géni in mechanics of his father.

In 1883 his/her father Gottlieb Daimler invents the Engine spark-ignition with his/her friend Wilhelm Maybach with Stuttgart then founds the company Daimler in 1895 with this same friend (Engineer as a chief) and his son Paul Daimler engineer then 26 years old.

In 1900 Gottlieb Daimler disappears on March 6th with Stuttgart at the 64 years age. Paul succeeds to him the direction of Daimler.

In 1902 Emil Jellinek, the most important dealer of Automobile Daimler of the Riviera of the beginning of the XXe century deposits the trade Mark legally “Mercedes” of the first name of his/her daughter then old of 13 years and sign a “commercial franchise agreement” for the cars Daimler for the Austria-Hungary, the France, the Belgium and the the United States. It legally makes modify its Nom in “Emil Jellinek-Mercedes”. It makes conceive and build by Paul Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach of Daimler the first Mercedes 35 HP of race and Mercedes Simplex which it is given the responsability to market and enters to the Board of directors of Daimler.

In 1909 Mercedes deposits like mark celebrates it star with three points, to represent the three ways that Gottlieb Daimler had chosen for its engines: Ground, Sea and Air, Emblem of all its cars starting from 1911.

1923 Paul withdraws direction of Daimler to old 54 years to be replaced by the professor Ferdinand Porsche (recruited in 1906 and founder of Porsche in 1948). It is then named director of studies in the German car manufacturer Horch until 1929.

In 1924 the economic crisis of the Years 1920 led Daimler and Carl Benz of “Benz & Co” to put their joint interests and to amalgamate in 1926 to become Mercedes-Benz, Industrial manufacturer German of Car S top-of-the-range and Truck S.

Paul Daimler disappears on December 15th, 1945 with Berlin with old 76 years.
