Paul Boudry

Paul Boudry is a painter Flemish originating in Antwerp (born on May 2nd, 1913 and deceased on February 12th, 1976). Not to confuse it with the French painter Paul Baudry.

It painted three years lasting under the direction of Isidore Opsomer. But it is of its Master Walter Vaes that it received refinement. He admired the Flemish painters of flowers of the 17th century and the technique studied some thoroughly. The freshness and the beauty of the colors of its flowers owe them much. To reach a high degree of accuracy it sometimes happened to him to use brush provided with only one hair.

Paul Boudry was professor with the Academy of Beautiful arts of Berchem. One owes him a very reduced number of exposures. What did not prevent it from being known and recognized by the amateurs who directly came to visit it with his workshop.

It is especially famous for its portraits and drawings of heads of children and for its very precise flowers.

Its meticulousness brings it closer to the line of Boudry painters: his/her grandfather Qualities Boudry (1851-1938) and his/her father Robert Boudry.
