Its workThe work of Paul Auster is located in the postmodern movement.
He is par excellence the writer of the chance and the contingency. He tracks with the daily newspaper the junctions resulting from events apparently pain-killers. It is what tell the Music of the chance , and especially Léviathan in an exceptional central scene. Its very stripped style seemingly, worked with the wire of its poetic works, hiding place a narrative architecture complexes, made exaggerated but always relevant digressions, stories in the history and of trompe-l'oeil ( Christmas d' Auggie Wren ). It describes also the loss, the dispossession, the report/ratio with the money, the wandering (in Moon Palace , the main character names Marco Stanley Fogg). He also wonders about the identity, in particular in the New Yorkean Trilogie where one of the characters (who is not the narrator) bears his name, in Léviathan , whose narrator has his initial (Peter Aaron) and meets a named woman Iris (anagram of the first name of its own Siri wife), or in the Night of the oracle , in which a character bears the name of Trause (anagram of Auster).
