Paul Arena

Paul-Auguste Arène , born on June 26th, 1843 in literature with Sisteron and dead on December 17th, 1896 in literature with Antibes, is a poet of Provence and French writer.

Biography

After having prepared a license of philosophy, Paul Arène works as Master of studies to the colleges of Marseilles, then of Vannes. A small part played successfully Odéon, Pierrot heir , the fact of leaving, in 1865, the university for journalism. It is 23 years old. With Paris, he attends the literary coffees and becomes the friend of Alphonse Daudet, François Coppée, Mendès. He regularly writes for the Newspaper, then Le Figaro arts person of the articles and the chronicles. The subject of all its parts of Provence is drawn from some characteristics of manners or landscapes of the region from Sisteron: Fontfrediero , Lily Estello negro , Raubatori .

In French language, Paul Arène published his Parnassiculet , which was worth sharp enmities to him. In 1868, Paul Arène wrote what remains his masterpiece, Jean of the Figs . After 1870, it wrote chronicles, tales, poems, of which in particular the Lay of Entrays , the Field of the hearts , the Boat of the six captains , With the Good Sun and the scented Pig mould , two collections of tales.
