Paul Abraham

Paul Abraham or Pál Ábrahám (born the November 2nd 1892 with Apatin (Austria-Hungary, today Serbia); died the May 6th 1960 with Hamburg) was a Compositeur Hungarian which especially wrote Opérette S.

Biography

Abraham studied with the Académie of music Franz-Liszt of Budapest of 1910 to 1916. It is with the beginning of the year 1920 qu ' it composed its first works. In 1927, it became Kapellmeister in Budapest and composed there in 1930 its first operetta Victoria and its hussard which was a sharp success. He then moved with Berlin whereas its popularity was increasing in Germany and compsé its first film musics there.

In 1933, he emigrated with Vienna then is gone back in 1938 to Budapest. Until the beginning of the Second world war, it composed several operettas which disappeared. Then he emigrated with Cuba then New York, where he could not join again with his last successes. In 1956, it has to leave the USA and to return to live in Germany, where it lived in a Sanatorium of Hamburg. It died there into 1960 of the continuations of an operation of the knee.
