Paul-Jacques Bonzon

Paul-Jacques Bonzon (August 31st 1908 with Holy-Marie-of-Mount (Handle) - September 24th 1978 with Valence) is a writer French, known mainly for the series the six companions .

Biography

Born with Holy-Marie-of-Mount in 1908, provided education for with Saint-Lo, Paul-Jacques Bonzon was pupil of the teacher training school teachers of Saint-Lo, promotion 1924-1927. It was initially named in Normandy, in its department of origin. In 1935, he marries a teacher of the Drome and obtains his change in this department where he was teacher and principal during twenty-five years. In station with Espeluche then with Chabeuil, it joined Saint-Laurent-in-Royans in 1949 and Valence in 1957 when it finishes its career in 1961.

It finishes with Valence in 1961 its career of teacher to devote itself entirely to its trade of writer of books for children.

It belonged to the " Drômoise" academy; , religious organization which groups writers, scientists, artists of the " Drômois" country;.

Its work slices on the children's literature of the time by the realistic and sometimes sad character of certain situations: the children whom it puts in scene are confronted with misery, the handicap, the abandonment. Paul-Jacques Bonzon describes the solidarity which animates the modest milieus to which they belong.

The largest majority as of these works were published in the Bookstore Hatchet. For this reason, it is being one of most representative of the novelists for the youth of this time.

Several of its works put in scene the Cotentin and more particularly Barneville-Carteret, besides than it names Barneret and Carteville in its novels. The cousins of Family HLM take their holidays there. " Delph the marin" , published at Sudel, is held in Carteret just as " The merchant of coquillages" , " The rider of the mer" or " The boat fantôme" . The author knew the area well. He came there regularly.

He also publishes at Delagrave, a series of works of readings followed for the school of which one, " Roulotte of Bonheur" , is held in its department of origin. He wrote in collaboration with Mr. Pedoja, inspector departmental of State education, a book of reading intended for the French-speaking natives " Pompom, small ass of the tropiques" .

He dies in Valence on September 24th, 1978.
