Biography
Paul-Eric Blanrue has undertaken for more than twenty years a work of demystification working for the promotion of the Critical spirit. In 1993, it founded the Cercle zetetic (of the Greek zêtein , to seek, the Zététique is " the art of the doubt "), association with nonlucrative goal proposing to inquire with method into all the subjects concerned with extraordinary, as well in science as in history. For this reason, it is liked has to recall that it explored of night forty " houses hantées" without never crossing the least phantom. In 2004, it revealed some of the tricks of the Canadian illusionist Gary Kurtz, in which some saw a miracle-worker. In 2005, it also reproduced the Suaire of Turin to the Museum of natural history of Paris, under the aegis of the monthly magazine Science and Vie .
Paul-Eric Blanrue left the zetetic presidency of the Cercle in 2004. In an official statement, he explained this resignation in these terms: " The fight against the charlatans of supernatural is inconsistent if it is only about gausser of the credulity of our contemporaries (...). It is progressist only if it is coextensive with an in-depth work, which really contributes to transform our company and to make evolve/move mentalities. To make it possible our fellow-citizens to live without unfolding of personality, i.e. without being trained to seek a chimerical compensation in the back-worlds, it is advisable in my opinion 1° to attempt to bring a basic answer to the problems which push them to escape from reality, 2° to find means of zetetic action more powerful than those developed until today, and 3° to extend our fields of investigation, in order to be more in catch with current, in its dimensions policy, economic, social and cultural reality. (...) Personnellement, it is with this task that I hope to harness myself in the years to come. I will try, with my method, my character, my style, to clear these virgin grounds 1° by integrating in my approach the subjective aspect of the current problems, 2° by revealing hidden contradictions of our mode of production, and 3° by uncovering myths oubliés."
Paul-Eric Blanrue collaborates regularly in the review Historia . He gives conferences in France and abroad. He is also consulting and scenario writer for various companies and production companies (documentary and cinema, like Fidélité production or Pathé).
