Paul-Antoine Pichard
Paul-Antoine Pichard (born the October 18th 1970) is a Photographe French.
Biography
It is in the tradition of humanistic and committed photography that the work of Paul-Antoine Pichard is placed.
It grows with images of wars, famines full the head. Vietnam, Kampuchea, Afghanistan, Chad, Ethiopia, Lebanon… Images of tortures cut out in “Chronicle” the monthly magazine of Amnesty International, Chile, Argentina, dark years.
After having studied decorative arts in Paris, it is in 1994 qu ' it turns definitively to photography. It presents its work to Gotskin Sipahioglu, character mythical of the world of photography, founder of the agency Sipa Close which proposes to him to leave in Ketama, in the Rif Marocain, in the middle of the first producing area of Haschisch in the world. During nearly one year it will divide the daily newspaper of these clandestine peasants. A revelation. He will traverse the world, one will find it in Balkans, in Asia or Africa. It is in Dakar, in 1997, qu ' it discovers the appalling universe of the discharges, starting point of a long project which it will entitle “Mines of refuse”. “The meeting with the recycleurs was the human experiment strongest of my life, more also testing…” Paul-Antoine Pichard lives with Cergy-Pontoise since 1973.
