Patrick Rondat

Patrick Rondat is a guitarist instrumental Hard rock French.

Biography

It started to learn the guitar in 1978, at the age of its 17 years. Strongly influenced by the guitarist Al Di Meola, it borrowed the technique of " to him; the outward journey-retour" (from top to bottom movement exerted by the wrist of the hand holding the médiator to scrape the cords) in order to obtain a great swiftness. This fast play, combined with its direction of the melody, classifies it with the row of “Guitar Hero”.

The first album containing one of its titles was compilation Hard rock Return , which gave him the possibility of recording its first album solo " Just For Fun" , in 1989.

Following the exit of its second album, Grater off the Earth , and with its presence with the " Monsters Off Rock" in first part of large groups such as AC/DC and Metallica, it was located by Jean-Michel Jarre with which began a long collaboration during which he in particular could accompany this last in the four corners by the world, and to play the piece Vivaldi tribute (taken again movement " the été" Four seasons of Vivaldi) to the foot of the Eiffel tower in front of 2 million Parisian.

Following this service, it is engaged by the label of Jean-Michel Jarre, Dreyfus. It records in 1996 the album Amphibia , which contains a version studio of Vivaldi Tribute and a resumption of Equinoxe IV of Jean Michel Jarre.

It then records in 1999 the album One the edge with in particular the pianist of Jazz Michel Petrucciani ( Why C you C things like that? ) and the violonist of Jazz Didier Lockwood.

Patrick Rondat also played sides of other sizes such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Michael Schenker (guitarist of the group Scorpions) or Tony MacAlpine. He played with Ian Parry then integrated his group Elegy as from 2000, for two albums ( Forbidden Fruit in 2000 and Principles off Bread in 2002).

Very appreciated for its great modesty, it also marked the guitarists by his teaching video " Virtuosity & Swiftness in Guitare" , which became a reference on the matter.

In 2004, it leaves the album An Ephemeral World , which ends in a resumption of Johann Sebastian Bach, the partita n°1 in SO minor for violin alone.

Patrick Rondat always has a solid bases fans - primarily French but such European guitarists. The album Rape off the Earth remains the album more voted by plebiscite and that having touched more many people.

The mark of guitar Ibanez gives its name to a model of the range " Signature".
