Patrick Doyle , born on April 6th, 1953 with Uddingston, in Scotland, is a British type-setter which wrote many musical partitions for the radio, television, the theater and the cinema.
Career
Patrick Doyle is graduate (1974) Royal Scottish Academy off Music and Drama, where it took courses of Piano and Chant.
In 1987, Patrick Doyle joined the Renaissance Theater Company as a type-setter and a musical director. Since this date, he wrote partitions for their productions of Hamlet, Prince off Denmark (Hamlet, Prince of Denmark), As You Like It ( As He You will like ) and Much Ado Butt Nothing ( Beaucoup of Noise for Nothing ). Then he worked with the director Judi Dench in the production of Look Back in Anger on television and composed the partition for King Lear (the King Lear) and has Midsummer Night' S Dream (the one Night Dream of summer).
Kenneth Branagh required of him to write the partition of the film Henry V , production of the Rebirth Company Theater. The topic " Not Nobis Domine" film was rewarded in 1989 by the Ivor Novello Award for Best Film Topic.
In 1990, the Prince Charles required of him to compose The Thisle and The Pink , for a chorus, in the honor of the 90 E birthday of the Queen Elizabeth.
In 1991, Patrick Doyle composed the band (which was nominated with the Golden Globe Award) of Dead Again of Paramount, directed by Kenneth Branagh, in 1993, that of Carlito' S way of Brian De Palma and in 1995, that of Sense and Sensibility was nominated with the Golden Globe, the Academy Award for Best Original Dramatic Score and with BAFTA Nomination for Best Film Score.
In 1996, it recomposes for Branagh the partition of the film-opera Hamlet .
In 2004, he writes the music of fourth film of the series Harry Potter. He succeeds thus John Williams, which had composed the music of the three first opus.
In 2006, it composes the music of Eragon.
