Patrick Corillon

Patrick Corillon , born with Knokke (Belgium) in 1959, is a contemporary artist.

He lives and works with Paris and Liege, he and is represented by the Gallery In situ (Paris).
Patrick Corillon begins studies with the Academy of the Art schools of Liege, but does not finish them because it is not very sensitive to the teaching of this establishment. Influenced by works of Jörg Madlener, Patrick Corillon is an artist representative of the Belgian new generation, with which the perhaps qualified work of hybrid in the direction or it mixes several artistic médiums: installations, video, photographs, textes.
Patrick Corillon does not write books, but made literature and arts plastiques.
He invents lives and characters. He is author in particular of short stories, whose its favorite character is Oskar Serti, (1881-1959), Hungarian writer, whose exposures of Corillon deliver to us venture with the wire of the temps.
Before creating various characters and bringing back their stories to us, Corillon has creates a series of " plates commémoratives" actions of famous artists, former to the character of Oskar Serti.
The artist puts in report/ratio art and the language, and the words, become plastic elements integrated in the pictorial composition.

In the Years 1980, Patrick Corillon works with the Plasticien OJ Rome in a workshop located at Baudour in a reallocated building which sheltered " The Company of Tileries and Panneries with Vapeur of Baudour" .

In July 2004, one of its works, " Flowers of the Royal" Palate; , is inaugurated by the Paola queen. She was chosen by the artistic committee created by the sovereign one in order to integrate the Belgian contemporary art in the royal palace of Brussels. Patrick Corillon thus joined Jan Fabre, Marthe Wéry and Dirk Braeckmann.

In 2008, Patrick Corillon will be curator of the exposure Dialog with Jacques Lizène, Jeannine Fender, Dario Caterina and OJ Rome with the Gallery Molina, Namur.

In all logic of a speech which rests on an at the same time plausible and ingenuously probable reality, Corillon plastically builds a kind of fiction of which terms, of a series of works to the other, multiplying without to become more and more complex. (Jacques Meuris, 1989)
