Patrick Caulfield

Koïchiro Matsuura (松浦晃一郎 Matsuura Kōichirō ) is a diplomat Japan board born in 1937 with Tōkyō (Japan). He is managing director of the United Nations for education, science and the culture (UNESCO).

Biography

Graduate in right of the University of Tōkyō and in economy of the Haverford College (the United States), it began his career from diplomat to the embassy of Japan to the Ghana, then will become adviser of embassy, general consul and ambassador.

Of 1998 with 1999, he is president of the committee of the world heritage of UNESCO and the November 15th 1999, he is elected managing director of UNESCO.

Koïchiro Matsuura wrote several books on the international relations.

He is honorary member of the Club of Rome.
