Patrick Besson is a writer and Journaliste French, born on June 1st 1956 of a Russian father and a Croatian mother .

It publishes in 1974, at the 17 years age, its first novel, the Small evils of love . It obtains the Grand Prix of the novel of the French Academy in 1985 for Dara and the Prix Renaudot in 1995 for Braban .

First of all sympathizing Communist, he is literary chronicler with the newspaper Humanity . He will collaborate then in VSD , with the Figaro , the Figaro Magazine , the Point with Voici and Marianne . Accustomed sour literary criticisms and public polemics, Patrick Besson also collaborated in the newspaper the International Idiot , of Jean-Edern Hallier.

During the Guerres of Yugoslavia, Patrick Besson supported the Serbia, by publishing in particular the book Against the slanderers of Serbia , which was worth to him polemics with other intellectuals like Michel Polac, Romain Goupil and Didier Daeninckx. Attacked by this last, it devoted a to him Pamphlet in the shape of novel, heading Didier denounces (editions Gerard de Villiers).

It is since 2000 member of the jury of the Renaudot Price.
