Patient of Metz
Saint Patient was the fourth bishop of Metz, succeeding Saint Felix.
The Martyrologe indicates that he was a relative of the apostle Jean and that he would have exerted his ministry in the year 157. This tradition, which makes go up the foundation of éveché of Metz at the time of the first apostles is in contradiction with the other sources which date it from.
It based the church Saint-Jean-Baptist on the current site of the abbey Saint-Arnould and one says that it was buried there. In 1193 one exhumed his relics which one placed in a mounting close to the furnace bridge.
It celebrated on January 8th.
