Patent of professional studies

The patent of professional studies ( BEP ) is a Diplôme of secondary studies and a Diplôme of vocational training. It is a diploma of level V.

Description

It does not have only any more vocation at present to make it possible to integrate the working life directly. It also makes it possible to the pupils to possibly continue studies towards a professional baccalaureat (or, for the best, towards a technological baccalaureat) then towards a BTS. It is a diploma of level III.

Contrary to the Vocational training certificate, which is very specialized and allows a fast entry in the working life, mainly in " the first company of France" i.e. the craft industry, the BEP corresponds to the first level of a broad professional sector (Ex: electricity)

The BEP prepares in two years after the class of third (or a reorientation in second) in a Vocational school public or private under contract or in training in CFA (Training center of Apprentices). The formation can be also carried out by continuing education and correspondence. More than 50 specialities are proposed.

With the program: 50% of technological and professional lesson and general matter 50%. Periods of formation in Undertaken, about 4 to 8 weeks, are also envisaged.

The contents of technological and professional teaching differ from one speciality to another, but its organization is always the same one. In close specialities or correspondent with same a Professional sector, there exists a common basic vocational training. For example the Right, the economy and the Comptabilité are common to all the BEP of the tertiary sector. A specialized teaching related to the practice of the future trade is practiced in each speciality. For example, only the BEP hotel trade-restoration makes it possible to learn the organization from a hotel.

Mainstream education includes/understands scientific matters (Maths and Physique for the industrial specialities, maths for the tertiary specialities), of the French, the Histoire, the Géographie, of the physical education and sporting, a teaching “social life and professional”. The foreign, optional living language in the majority of the CAPE, is always obligatory in BEP. It is essential for the continuation of the studies and provides the bases of a general culture centered on the modern world.

The level of the mainstream educations exempted in BEP is very correct and corresponds to that of a good class of second general.
