Patélana
In the Roman Mythology, Patélana (of Latin patere , “to open”) was an agrarian goddess who chaired the opening of ear of grain. According to Arnobe, one can distinguish Patella for the “open things” from Patélana for the “things to open”.
One knows this goddess in the writings of Saint Augustin, when it enumerates the agricultural divinities whom it finds futile ( the City of God , L.IV). It is to be brought closer to the divinities devoted to the formation of corn ear: Nodutus, Volutina, Hostilina, Flora, Lacturnus and Matuta.
