The Passat is one of the Flying P-Liner, the famous sailing of the company of Maritime transport German F. Laeisz.

This Four-masted barque, launched in 1911, was used during decades like cargo liner until good after the beginning of the age of the Steamers. In the Years 1950, Passat and its Bateau Jumeau the Pamir became ships school for the Merchant navy German. A few weeks after the tragic loss of the Pamir and little time after itself to be severely struck by a Storm, Passat was disarmed in 1957. It is now a boat museum moored in the port of Travemünde, a Municipalité of Lübeck in Germany.
