Passage des Princes
The passage of the Princes is a roofed passageway Paris IEN located in the II {{E}} district, between the Boulevard of the Italians to the North-West and the Rue of Richelieu in the east.
History
In spite of the transformations of Paris operated by the baron Haussmann which made disappear from many passages, a decree of the September 3rd 1860 authorized nevertheless the opening of this passage. It was the last roofed passageway built in Paris at the time of Haussmann.The Mirès banker bought a private mansion located Rue of Richelieu as well as a piece for the construction of this passage which constituted a short cut for the pedestrians. It was about a gallery to the rather simple decoration surmounted by a canopy with double slope rate/rhythm with each Travée by double metal arches forming of the arabesques. Property as of 1866 of the Insurance company on the life, become since AGF, the passage was destroyed in 1985 for a real estate transaction but was rebuilt with identical by the Architecte S.A. Georgel and A. Mrowiec. Nevertheless the open angle that it formed of origin was then rectified in order to form a right angle.
