Pascweten
Pascweten was one of the applicant which disputed the throne of Brittany after the death of Solomon of Brittany. Count of Vannes then also of Nantes it based his claims on his marriage with the girl of the king, Prostlon.
In 874, he conspired with the count of Rennes, Gurvant, to assassinate the king. Their alliance lasted however only time to make conceal the claims of the other applicants, in particular the counts of Goëlo and Leon. In 875 it attacked Rennes, the main home of Gurvant but failed in spite of what seems to have been an important numerical superiority.
It made a new attempt in 876, hoping to benefit from the disease of Gurvant. It was again a failure. He died at the end of 876 or, more probably at the beginning of 877, poisoned or assassinated by his Normands allies.
His/her Alain brother inherited the counties of Valves and Nantes and became king de Bretagne after the Bataille of Questembert.
