Pascual Márquez

Pascual Márquez Díaz , born with Villamanrique of Condesa (Spain, Province of Seville) the October 22nd 1914, died with Madrid (Spain) the May 30th 1941, was a Spanish Matador.

Presentation

He was wire of a cowherd of the Ganadería of Moreno Santamaría. This relationship directed it towards art taurin and allowed him to make its first weapons in the Tienta S and in some festivals.

It begins as a public in Novillada with Picador S with Seville (Spain) the May 26th 1935 at the sides from Mariano Rodríguez, “Pepete de Triana” and “Alcalareño”, vis-a-vis novillos of the Ganadería of Esteban González. It gains a notable success which enables him to arise to Madrid the July 14th according to at the sides of Eduardo Solórzano and “Morateño”, vis-a-vis novillos of the ganadería of Terrones. It then becomes one of the novilleros more for its time.

It should have taken the alternate during the year 1936, but the civil war prevented some. It finally takes it with Seville the May 27th 1937, with as godfather Luis Fuentes Bejarano and like witness Domingo Ortega vis-a-vis bulls of the ganadería of Pablo Romero. It confirms it in Madrid the September 26th 1940 with like godfather Nicanor Villalta and witness “Pericás” vis-a-vis bulls of the ganadería of gift Francisco Chica.

He was regarded by his contemporaries as having only little style, but courageous and voluntary. Also it had succeeded in acquiring a great popularity near the public which had called it “El tesoro of Isla” (“the treasure of the Island”).

The May 18th 1941, in the arenas of Madrid, it is seriously wounded by the bull “Farolero” of the ganadería of Concha there Sierra. He dies in Madrid the next on May 30th.
