Biography
First Clarinet solo with the Orchestra of Paris since 1981, Pascal Moraguès continues a brilliant career of concert performer.
As a soloist, it occurred, inter alia, under the direction of Daniel Barenboïm, Pierre Boulez, Semyon Bychkov, Carlo Maria Giulini, Zubin Mehta, Yuri Bashmet, Emmanuel Krivine, Frans Brüggen, Louis Langrée and Stefan Sanderling.
Partner of Chamber music particularly solicited, he is member of the Quintette Moraguès (Wind quintet), of the Unit Viktoria Mullova and the Whole of Katia and Marielle Labèque. The Chamber orchestra of Europe frequently associates it with its activities. One also finds it at the sides of Christoph Eschenbach, Sviatoslav Richter, Christian Zacharias, Elena Bashkirova, Helene Grimaud, Pascal Rogé, Oleg Maisenberg, Joseph Kalichstein, Stephen Bishop, Itamar Golan, Yuri Bashmet, Natalia Gutman, Shlomo Mintz, Joshua Bell, Gary Hoffman, Boris Pergamenchtchikov, of Lady Felicity Lott, the Trio Guarneri and of the quartet S Borodine, Pražák, Sine Nomine, Carmina, Keller, Lindsay, Ysaÿe, Parisii and Talich.
It appears regularly with the program of the international musical institutions most prestigious such as the Wigmore Hall of London, the Musikverein of Vienna, the Konzerthaus of Vienna and Berlin, the Théâtre of the Fields-Élysées and the Théâtre of Châtelet in Paris, the Carnegie Hall of New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington and of the great series in Europe, in the Middle East, in the United States, in Australia and in Japan where it is invited each year.
Pascal Moraguès is professor with the Conservatoire Higher National of Music of Paris since 1995 and gives, moreover, of many master-classes in Europe, in Japan and the United States.
He recorded about fifteen discs greeted unanimously by the international press. In 1994, the Moraguès Quintet receives the Grand Prix of the New Academy of the disc. In the integral of Sviatoslav Richter appeared at Philips in 1995, the Russian pianist chose the Moraguès Quintet for the recording of the Quintette for piano and winds op.16 of Beethoven.
