Pascal Ier
Pascal Ier , 98e Pope of the January 25th 817 with the February 11th 824.
Born with Rome, he had been before abbot of the Monastère Saint-Etienne in Rome.
He accepted in gift on behalf of Louis Débonnaire, the Corsica and the Sardinia. He crowned Lothaire I {{er}} emperor in 823, and opened in Rome a refuge for the Greek that the persecution of the iconoclasts reduced to leave the East.
Regarded as a Holy by the Roman Catholic church, it is celebrated the May 14th.
