Party member of the Labor Party-Socialist of Gibraltar

The socialist workers party of Gibraltar (GSLP) is a political party in Gibraltar. The GSLP is the active party oldest in Gibraltar, its formation being located in trade-union mobility. The party is socialist and also largely democratic: promises of increased public expenditure and better pensions. It also supports to decrease the ministerial wages.

As all the parties in Gibraltar the GSLP supports self-determination for Gibraltar and is opposed to Spanish sovereignty. The party historically was more extremist in his attitude towards Spain than the Sociaux-démocrates of Gibraltar which tend towards a reconciling position.

It is currently carried out by Joe Bossano, and is in an alliance with the Liberal party of Gibraltar. With the election 2003 with the Parliament this alliance received 39.7 percent of the voices and 7 (out of 15) members (5 GSLP, liberal 2).
