Parts of war
Pièces of war is the name d´une theatrical Trilogie of the British Dramaturge Edward Bond.
Description of the part
The part puts in scene our world vis-a-vis a war having led to the atomic destruction, almost reducing to nothing humanity. Its construction arises in three books:
- Red black and ignoramus putting in scene a terrible character, the Monster , sailing between the visions of a violent world, which it presents as the life that it would have lived… If it had not been killed in the belly of his mother by a bombardment.
- the fury of affluent the in the world reduced to a desert by the bomb, some men (on) live in autarky in an old factory of limp of preserve. They will have to face the arrival of a new man who goes - seem-T-it to cause the brutal death of the inhabitants.
- Great peace last book of this trilogy starting before the destruction of the world with the Bomb, whereas the war beats full sound, a young soldier will have to undergo an absurd order, to kill a child of less than 5 years living its street in order to reduce the expenditure in food, the famine touching the population savagely. In circumstances of an extreme violence, it will have to kill his brother and to flee, leaving his mother in front of the accomplished fact. One follows then the course of this mother that after a seizing temporal ellipse, one finds twenty years later wandering in the Desert caused by the Bomb. This one, become more or less insane, will make the meeting of characters, leading it to reflect on its condition.
In these three parts, the reader (or the spectator) is approached by leitmotive of death, the suffering, the forfeiture, the human condition and the wretched truth of the war like by the terrible monologs déclamés by the characters. It is thus a committed and vibrating part, tragedy moving by realism.
The first two shutters (Red, black and being unaware of the fury of affluent) of this trilogy are with the program of the speciality theater of the baccalaureat L of the school year 2004-2005 at the year 2006-2007.
