Parts in euro of France

The parts in euro of the France present three drawings different according to the series from the parts. They are of Joaquin Jimenez for the parts of 1 and 2 euros, of Laurent Jorio (which modernizes the drawing of Oscar Roty) for the parts of 10,20 and 50 centimes and Fabienne Courtiade for the parts of 1,2 and 5 centimes. On all the drawings the twelve stars of the European Union are reproduced.

In addition to the year of emission are reproduced on the parts initial “the RF” of the French Republic. The French coins are struck by the Monnaie of Paris. All eight face carries the year, initial “the RF” of the French Republic, the name of the author and twelve stars of Europe. The faces of the coins of 2 euros and 1 euro carry, moreover, the currency of the Republic “Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité”.

The drawings of the national faces of the French parts are defined in the Journal officiel de la R3epublique fran1caise n° 1 of January 1st, 2002 (Stopped of December 31st, 2001). The types of the national faces of the French coins of currency made out in euros intended for circulation are in conformity with the following models, deposited with the administration of the Currencies and medals:

  • model known as of “the Tree” for the coins of two euros and one euro,
  • model known as of “the Sower” modernized for the coins of fifty centimes, twenty centimes and ten centimes,
  • model known as of the news “Marianne” for the coins of five centimes, two centimes and one centime.

Commemorative part

France emitted its first commemorative part only in 2007, at the time of the birthday of the the Treaty of Rome.
