Third shutter of the series The Elder Scrolls (after Arena and Daggerfall ), Morrowind is a Roleplay in the traditional direction of the term: the player directs a character (and not a team) in the region of Morrowind, more precisely on the island of Vvardenfell (24 km ²). The character in question will evolve/move with the wire of the searches which the PNJ (characters not-player) will propose to him. The player is free to choose among a few hundreds of varied searches (others that the principal search). The principal search is not restrictive in the sense that it can be abandoned when it is wanted it (if it is wished) and that it must be more regarded as a “discussion thread” that like drank play. The universe is enough dense to make it possible - just like its predecessors - to walk lengthily in the island without another goal to include/understand the world. It is estimated that the crossing of North in the South of the island to foot takes on average an hour of real-time.
Gameplay & Universe
The originality of Morrowind resides in the total freedom which the player has. It can play a character good or bad, to change control in the course of road, etc It can as well help the widow and the orphan that to trott itself quietly on the island. The whole occurs in a world from Heroic fantasy (or Medieval-Fantastic) mingled with some technological advances, which appear however credible. This great freedom is interpreted with the choice by the players as an advantage or a defect.One of the principal assets of Morrowind resides in the fact that time is a scale with whole share, without arrest. For example, the number of days spent in the play is counted. By “day” it is also necessary to hear “night”, because the night exists indeed in the play: the night, it will be easier to you to steal, to move you quietly, but it will be also harder to you to distinguish potential dangers. Let us add to that each area of the play has its own climate (rain, sun, storm, and even snow thanks to Bloodmoon).
Morrowind VF
The marketing of Morrowind on the French territory passed by two phases: a version semi-localized, compatible with MOD S of the english language version, was initially put on sale. The integral French version (compatible with the mods carried out with this version only) followed a few weeks later.The integral French version being majority, of many sites of mods for Morrowind as Wiwiland work to modify the anglophone mods to make them compatible with the French version. This process was called by its users the camemberisation.
Plugins
Morrowind is an evolutionary play, namely that the player can import plugiciels with the most varied effects (addition of new regions, modification of the rules, etc). These Plugiciel S or MOD S is carried out by the players themselves and largely improves the immersion in the world of the play, and thus confers on Morrowind one quasi-unlimited lifespan. The tool for creation of plugiciel provided with the play, The Elder Scrolls Construction Set, is the tool used by the developers to carry out the immense world of the play.Morrowind was enriched by two extensions - official: The Elder Scrolls III: Court and The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon.
