The Parthenaise is a bovine race French.
Origin
It belongs to the fawn-coloured branch of the brown Rameau, like her cousin the
aubrac. She would have arrived in the area with the Arab cattle
at the time of the battle of
Poitiers. She draws her name from the town of
Parthenay, in the area of
Poitou-Charentes.
Le delivers genealogical was created in
1893. One then counted more than one million individuals. This population is to be brought closer to the vineyard of Cognac. After the Phylloxera, the understocks available do not make it possible to replant the vineyard intended for the production of prestigious brandy. The producers must reconvert themselves. Morphology
