Origin

It belongs to the fawn-coloured branch of the brown Rameau, like her cousin the aubrac. She would have arrived in the area with the Arab cattle at the time of the battle of Poitiers. She draws her name from the town of Parthenay, in the area of Poitou-Charentes.
