Parliament of the Sierra Leone
The Parlement of the Sierra Leone is the legislative body of the Sierra Leone. It comprises only one room, sometimes indicated under the name of Chambre of the representatives . The members of Parliament are 124, including 112 elected officials by the universal direct suffrage in districts multisièges, according to a system proportional and with a quorum of 12,5%. The 12 remaining seats are reserved to the indirectly elected supreme leaders the June 10th 2002. All the members are elected for five years.
The current composition of the Parliament is resulting from the legislative elections of the May 14th 2002. The current rapporteur is Edmund Cowan. Eighteen seats are occupied by women.
